The secret of the acoustics and the unique voices of our sopranos

The concert makes full use of the acoustics of St. Nicholas Church. The musicians perform from the main organ balcony, the side balcony and downstairs directly in front of the audience. The sound comes from different directions, rises into the dome and, thanks to the long reverberation, returns through the space in a unique way.

The sopranos alternate on different concert dates. Marie Šimůnková, Zuzana Kós Kopřivová and Vanda Šípová are soloists of the National Theatre. Each brings her own voice, personality and style to the concert, while all three share a high professional standard.

The Christmas carols bring a magical atmosphere to the end of the concert. With familiar melodies such as Silent Night and Adeste Fideles, you can quietly sing along, remember your loved ones and slow down for a moment. Together with the illuminated nativity scene and the atmosphere of Christmas in Old Prague, the concert creates a moment that truly belongs to Christmas.

Do you traditionally go to Midnight Mass? Why not try a Christmas concert in a church?
